Queen Elizabeth Off Road Cycle Trail

1 Start at Gravel Hill car park, (along Forest Drive, within Queen Elizabeth Country Park - Grid ref: 719 182).
2 Turn Right onto gravel track, and continue for 3/4 mile.
3 At major track junction at top of hill, continue Straight Ahead on gravel track to reach park boundary, car park and tarmac road.
3a SHORT CUT - Turn Right along tarmac road and continue for approximately 2 miles.
3b SHORT CUT - Turn Right onto stoney track.
4 Continue straight across and follow sunken road. At end of tarmac road continue on chalky track, passing Dean Barn on right, for approx 1 mile.
5 Join tarmac road, then, where road bears left, Turn Right onto narrow trail signposted bridleway. Continue south along edge of wood, then follow Forest Enterprise bridleway markers.
6 Shortly after joining main track, Turn Left along narrow bridleway with field on right.
7 Turn Right along tarmac road for approx. 400 yards.
8 Turn Left onto signposted bridleway, and continue straight on along rough track, ignoring left hand turn to Downley Farm.
9 At forest edge, Turn Left down a very steep flint and chalk slope to valley bottom. You are advised to walk down this slope.
10 Turn Right onto bridleway, take Left Fork onto bridleway for 1 mile.
11 Take Right Fork, signposted bridleway and continue for approx. 400 yards.
12 Turn Right onto narrow muddy track. This soon widens to a partially surfaced track.
13 At T-jn, Turn Left along tarmac road.
14 At Xroads, Turn Right and cross over railway bridge.
15 Turn First Right along narrow lane. Continue for approximately 1/2 mile.
16 Turn Sharp Left up steep, stony track. Continue to road.
17 Turn Right onto road. Continue to T-jn in Chalton Village. The Red Lion is just to the left.
18 At T-jn, Turn Right. Continue for approx 3/4 mile along road.
19 Turn Right along grass and chalk track, keeping forest on right. Pass white cottage on your right, at point 20.
20 Immediately after stables on left, Turn Right along gravel track, which rejoins the Forest Drive, and returns to Gravel Hill car park.
