| We at Rough Riders do organise
MTB rides throughout the week and at weekends. These rides
are not treated as races, but instead are generally steady/fun
rides. The majority of our rides are held at Queen Elizabeth
Country Park, but on occasions we do ride at other locations
to (see below).
You must be a member of Rough Riders to participate
in our rides as this is due to insurance purposes. Guest
riders are permitted to ride with us, but under conditions.
A good level of cycle fitness is needed as some of the routes
can be quite challenging.
Fun is had by all with stops for the slower
riders on the more technical and hillier paths so everyone
can re-group. Usually at the end of the ride we will stop
at a café or tea room nearby to discuss the day's
action.
Most rides are between 2 to 3 hours in length,
but on a few occasions some rides will be longer as we discover
new routes. Queen Elizabeth Country Park's visitors centre
car park is our normal meeting place and we usually
arrive around 9.00 am for a 9.30am start.
The emphases on all these rides is about having
fun and not to be racing each other, but sometimes there
is a chance for you to have a blast to get the blood warm
and flowing.

Specific Events:
Mountain Biking is increasing with popularity
and many forests/woodland areas across the country are opening
up their doors (or gates) to the MTB'ers. On occasions we
do organise trips to various locations in the UK to expand
our knowledge of MTB'ing and to ride on new tracks and trails..
