On all our rides you must wear a cycle
helmet. This could save your life and is for your own protection.

Rough Riders MTB Club
|
| Welcome to Rough Riders. Due
to popular demand from our customers, friends and family,
we at Velocity Bikes have decided to launch our very own
MTB club. The club 'Rough Riders' is open to anyone with
an interest in Mountain Bike riding regardless of age, sex
and ability.
Rough Riders is a Mountain Bike club made
up of non-competitive and competitive cyclists from the
Portsmouth and surrounding area. Our aim is to promote responsible
mountain biking either 'On' or 'Off' road whilst enjoying
the thrills and spills that it brings.

Pictured above is Samuel just about to drop off some rocks.
We also insist that you wear a helmet at all
times as mountain biking can be a dangerous sport (see picture
above). This photo is of Samuel riding at Coed y Brenin
in July whilst on holiday with his family. |

Affiliation:
Rough
Riders is affiliated the Cyclists
Touring Club (CTC) giving us protection when we organise
events and rides for our members. We are also insured for
social events run as part of a ride, for example, tea stops
or a barbecue for ride participants at the end of a ride
and for meetings of our club.
If we are involved in the running of a ride/event (as ride
leader, marshal, or in a similar capacity), we are insured
against any claim made against us or our organisation for
injury or damage caused to a third party.
Rough
Riders are also affiliated to the International
Mountain Bike Association (IMBA) which promotes mountain
biking in the UK & Ireland defending the rights of way
for MTBs. IMBA also supports environmentally sound and socially
responsible mountain biking and works to keep trails and
public access open for mountain biking.
