Here at Velocity Bikes we provide a comprehensive range of repairs and services that cover everything from replacing that worn out tyre to a complete Gold Service or custom bike build-up. All our repairs  and services are carried out by fully trained Cytech qualified cycle technicians in the largest purpose built retail cycle workshop in the UK. Velocity Bikes is Portsmouth's only Shimano Service Centre.  This is further assurance your repair will be carried out to the highest and most exacting standards.
We have fixed priced labour charges for the majority of repairs, but in some instances we have come across repairs which are an unknown quantity and these are charged at an hourly rate, which is set at £30.00 per hour. Nobody likes unexpected costs. Estimates are given so that you can be sure of what is being done and how much it will cost. Repacements are only considered if the existing part is not serviceable. We always endeavour to provide the most cost effective solution to a proble m. A three month guarantee on labour and 12 month guarantee on parts will reassure you that the works have been carried out correctly (excluding wear, tear and misuse).
We have spent a great deal of time and effort in ensuring that we are properly equipped in both material and knowledge terms. We only ever offer all of our valued customers the standard of service that they have every right to expect, which is why we enjoy good and long term relationships with our customers. We prepare our customers' bikes to no less a standard than we prepare our own personal machines.
One of our key commitments is to train our staff to the highest available standards. This is especially relevant in the workshop environment where bicycles for all uses are being prepared for sale, or  maintained and repaired. In all cases, we are acutely aware that bicycles are potentially both road and off road vehicles and as such need to be correctly serviced, to the manufacturer's specifications, prior to use. Technology constantly advances and standards change. We keep fully up to date with all the latest advances through regular technical bulletins from Shimano, as well as releases of information from our otherb suppliers.
To these ends, all of our staff are trained to CyTech standards - this progressive qualification system being backed by all of the major cycle and component manufacturers, as well as the Association of Cycle Traders (ACT), an organisation in which we are very active.
